Advanced Placement United States History is a course designed to provide a comprehensive overview of United States History that is equivalent to a freshman college course. It is a two-trimester survey course of American history from the age of exploration to the present, taught daily for seventy minutes a day for twelve weeks each trimester. This course will provide students with factual knowledge and the analytical skills needed to assess historical information and documents. Competent reading and writing skills, along with a willingness to devote outside class time to readings and homework are necessary for success in this course. This course is designed according to the guidelines described in the AP United States History Course Description.
